My wife and I have always used a baby monitor and a separate remote temperature sensor for our first child. With the upcoming arrival of our second we decided to purchase this monitor since it included a temperature sensor built in. It also has a nightlight and two way communications features so we though it was perfect. We brought it home and tested it out. It had more static than our other monitor, I followed the directions to change the channel and none of the other channels seems to make a difference. To be certain it wasn't something in our house I tested it at my brother in-law's house and had the same problem. To top it off the range is horrendous, with only one wall separating the base with the receiver it shows good signal strength until you put the unit to your ear and it immediately loses all signal. I should also mention that the volume setting does not go as high as our other monitor. In conclusion this monitor has a lot of potential with its feature set, but has poor performance with the specific feature that is needed, clear/reliable audio monitoring! I've returned this one and managed to find our other monitor on clearance. In case anyone is wondering, our other monitor is the "Fisher-Price Private Connection Monitor with Dual Receivers".

I purchased this monitor because we needed 2 parent units and I would like to take it into the garage and yard on occasion so the 2000 foot range sounded good. Of course 2000 feet was an
exaggeration. But I expected more than 100 feet which was the max i could get out of it. The sound level is also way to low if you aren't in the same room you wont hear it. The BIGGEST problem with the monitor is that it drops out/looses the connection. I have had 2 sets of this monitor so it wasn't just the first one that was broken. The really bad thing about it is that you don't know because the display shows the little antenna saying that it has a connection. The only sign of it not being connected is that it falls silent (as apposed to the normal background static that it gives off.) But if you are doing something or sleeping you don't notice this. Basically the only way I could get the connection back is by turning off and on the base/nursery unit. Changing channels and the parent finder buttons where out of function. When it didn't do the total dropout it had little dropouts where it would be out for 5 sec. Every 5th time the out of range alarm would sound and that gets annoying at 3am.
So after having tried 2 units and both having identical faults I got a different brand. Now my kids hopefully wont have to scream at the top of there very sad lungs to get my attention threw the door again.
The summer slim and clear we got instead has been up and running for half a day and so far it works and with a volume level that you can actually hear without having the parent unit to your ear!
